Ohhh, the soft, squishy, preciousness of a newborn! It doesn’t last long before they get wide-eyed and wiggly, so let’s capture those classic newborn poses in the comfort of your home and their own nursery during the first 2 weeks of their sweet life.
These sessions typically take 2-3 hours…hello feeding, diaper changes, calming the fussiness!
Sweet toes, baby chub, toothless smiles, first teeth, sitting up, crawling, standing…so many “firsts” to capture! It flies by in a blur, so let’s document those special milestones you want to cherish forever.
From their first birthday through their school years, there is so very much to document in the life of a child. It’s a great idea to schedule a portrait every year to remember the details because as we all know, “the days are long, but the years are short”.
Whether it’s time for your annual Christmas card or time to update artwork on your walls, a current family photo is always a great idea. A family gathering is another wonderful opportunity to capture various family groups as well as the entire clan.
Most often your yard, a nearby park or a local point of interest makes for a good natural light backdrop. And sometimes, the intimacy inside your own home is the best place to spotlight your family. I will help you find the perfect setting for your family session.
Documenting life as it happens…that’s the goal of “lifestyle” photography. Children at play, chores, cooking, family interaction…kind of a “fly on the wall” approach to documenting your everyday life.
I will spend some time with your family at home or at one of your favorite hangouts capturing these ordinary moments which tell the story unique to your family.
Senior year…what a special time in a young person’s life! Some seniors prefer an early fall session to document the beginning of this awesome year, while others choose springtime which is closer to walking the stage. Portraits commemorating graduation from high school or college are a keepsake of a lifetime. And these images make wonderful graduation announcements!
Portraits of individuals are so versatile. They are great for documenting life at a milestone or, just as importantly, celebrating everyday life.
All couples, newly engaged or married for decades, enjoy looking at their sweet selves now as well as in the years to come. You will thank yourselves later for documenting your joy today!
Legacy is one of my soft spots. Maybe it’s because I was so close to my own grandparents…maybe it’s because my children were so connected to their grandparents. Maybe it’s because I am a grandparent.
I encourage all families to include the grandparents in their sessions from time to time. Images of your family’s intergenerational relationships will provide much pleasure in the present and wonderful memories in the decades to come.
What a special time in the life of every mom! Let’s document your radiance of pregnancy and the anticipation of what’s to come.
Maternity sessions are best scheduled around 32-36 weeks of pregnancy, allowing enough time for your amazing bump to show, but not too close to your due date.
I love to incorporate special mementos into maternity sessions such as heirlooms, accessories, “lovies” and…..the sky’s the limit!
Birthday parties (children AND adults), bridal showers, anniversary parties, baby showers, holiday celebrations, family reunions, corporate events, you name it. Relax and enjoy your event and let me capture the fun, décor and details.
Our furry friends are often such a special part of our family, and I think it's important to capture them, too. We can include your pets in some of your photography session as well.
When not photographing people (or pets!), I love to capture glimpses of nature. From framed desk accessories to wall art, it's pleasing to the eye to bring the beauty of the outdoors into your home or office. Prints and canvases are available though Martha D Photography.
